Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that the 2026 budget will allocate VND95,000 billion for science, technology, innovation and digital transformation development.
On the morning of November 15, chairing a meeting of the Government Steering Committee on science, technology, innovation, digital transformation and Project 06, the Prime Minister assigned the State Bank of Vietnam and joint stock commercial banks to resolutely and effectively implement the VND500,000 billion credit program to promote strategic infrastructure and digital technology development. The State Bank will review conditions, criteria and control cash flow to the right target.
To ensure funding from the budget and investment sources, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Science and Technology proposed appropriate financial mechanisms, allocating and arranging sufficient capital. Electronic health records nationwide will be built and connected between hospitals.
The head of the Government shared a story he encountered in Thanh Hoa, where a parent had to travel 19 km to the commune headquarters to get a birth certificate for his student child, then send it to Hanoi. Meanwhile, agencies have instructed people to access the VNeID application, which contains full data on personal relationships, date of birth, place of birth, etc. Therefore, the Prime Minister emphasized the need to strengthen knowledge and skills training for people, and at the same time, unnecessary procedures that people still have to do “must be boldly and decisively cut”.
